Project Accountant
- Location:
Dhamar Governorate (with regular travel to other sites).
- Period:
9 months, renewable subject to performance.
- Duty
Station: Makers Meeting Place Organization (LMMPO), Sana’a, Dhamar
city–Yemen.
- Terms:
Full Time Position (8 Eight hours per working day), with field visits to
the work sites.
- Classification:
Financial Management.
- Expected
start Date: 01-08-2025.
- Job grade:
- fourth degree.

LMMPO is keen to have a competent candidate to fill the position of Project
Accountant.
Purpose/Scope of the task
Recording all the project financial transactions on the
accounting system without any delay. -Facilitate the financial procedures to
implement the project various activities. -Responsible of keeping record of the
project expenditures electronically and manually -Analyses financial
information - Responsible to apply the financial policy of LMMPO and the
financial guidance of the donor. - Doing the reconciliations. Direct
responsibility for all accounting restrictions, and ensure the validity of the
deportation and guidance and ensure the existence of the documents and the
legal validity of the registration. (Field office and HQ).
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
1. Record and track all financial
transactions related to the project.
2. Ensure that project expenses are accurately allocated and
documented.
3. Reconcile project accounts regularly to ensure accuracy
and completeness.
4. Prepare and submit payment requests to vendors,
contractors, and other stakeholders in a timely manner.
5. Ensure that all payments are supported by appropriate
documentation and approvals.
6. Compile and submit all required financial documents, such
as invoices, receipts, and financial reports, to the Finance Department.
7. Ensure that all financial documentation is complete,
accurate, and compliant with organizational policies.
8. Assist the Finance Manager in preparing and managing the
project budget.
9. Monitor project expenditures against the budget and report
any variances.
10. Provide financial forecasts and updates to ensure the
project stays within budget.
11. Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records for
the project.
12. Ensure that all financial documentation is easily
accessible for audits and reviews.
13. Ensure that all financial activities comply with the
organization’s policies and procedures.
14. Stay updated on relevant financial regulations and ensure
the project adheres to them.
15. Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that
financial activities align with the project’s goals and requirements.
16. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support
project decision-making.
17. Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure
seamless financial operations.
18. Act as a liaison between the project team and the Finance
Department to address any financial issues or concerns.
19. Prepare regular financial reports for the Project Manager
and Finance Department.
20. Provide detailed financial analysis and summaries to
support project monitoring and evaluation.
21. Assist in the preparation for internal and external
audits.
22. Provide all necessary financial documentation and support
during audits.
23. Perform any other related duties as assigned by the
Project Manager or Finance Manager to support the financial management of the
project.
Qualifications and Skills
Study and Training:
- University
degree in Accounting.
- Training
courses in the same field.
- 3 to 5
years of experience in financial management in local or international
organizations.
Languages:
- Fluent
in Arabic and English (Speaking and Writing).
Skills:
- Team
management and knowledge transfer.
