Family Counseling and Development Foundation
Family Counseling and Development Foundation is a
non-governmental humanitarian organization which was established on January 8,
2011 in Yemen. FCDF is specialized in providing mental health and psychosocial
support services for 12 years to men, women and children who seek help,
including a qualified Yemeni staff who are very specialized in MHPSS.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure
that all protection and health-related activities are implemented in a
manner that respects the rights and dignity of beneficiaries while
ensuring communities are adequately consulted and informed about FCDF’s
program objectives and methodologies.
- Provide
leadership, coordination, and guidance in all matters related to project
implementation, ensuring alignment with international humanitarian
standards and best practices in protection and health.
- Manage
the project team, including protection and health specialists, ensuring
their full engagement in planning and executing project activities.
- Oversee
the implementation of protection and health-related activities and ensure
to meet the requirements of the donor and FCDF.
- Monitor
and evaluate activities to ensure compliance with technical standards and
quality requirements, ensuring interventions are tailored to the specific
needs of beneficiaries.
- Develop
strategic partnerships with local health authorities, protection centers,
NGOs, and UN agencies to strengthen protection and health responses.
- Collect
and analyze technical information to assess opportunities and risks,
identifying corrective measures when necessary.
- Build
the capacity of the team through internal training sessions and
specialized workshops on protection and health.
- Supervise
referral processes for sensitive medical or protection cases, ensuring
services are provided confidentially and respectfully.
- Work
closely with program, HR, finance, and logistic departments to ensure
effective support for project activities, including financial planning,
budget tracking, and procurement coordination.
- Prepare
periodic reports on activity implementation, data analysis, challenges,
and lessons learned, and submit them to program management and the MEAL unit
for continuous improvement.
- Represent
FCDF in coordination meetings with government authorities, clusters,
partner organizations, and local communities, contributing to policy and
strategy development for protection and health sectors.
- Develop
and maintain positive interactions with local government officials (to
facilitate approvals, document processing, and understanding of proposed
and pending changes in regulations/other operating strategies).
- Prepare/implement
meeting plans, meeting documentation, identification of key issues and
Foundation follow-up and participate in internal meetings, staff meeting,
roundtable discussions, and consultations as appropriate.
- Support
efforts to identify funding opportunities and draft project proposals to
enhance the sustainability of health and protection interventions.
- Provide
performance evaluation of the project staff.
- Ensure
full compliance with integrity and accountability standards and enforce
protection policies, including the prevention of sexual exploitation and
abuse (PSEA).
- Perform
any other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor to achieve project
goals.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Public Health, Medicine, Psychology, Social Work, or a related
field.
- Minimum
of 5 years of experience in project management in the protection and
health sectors, preferably with NGOs.
- Strong
knowledge of protection principles, public health standards, GBV response,
and case management.
- Excellent
leadership and management skills, with the ability to work under pressure
and oversee multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience
in coordinating with local authorities, partners, and donors.
- Fluency
in Arabic and English (both written and spoken).
- Strong
reporting, data collection, and analytical skills.
- High
commitment to humanitarian protection principles and respect for cultural
diversity
