Who are we?
The Danish Refugee
Council (DRC) has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of
Africa since 1997. Using a protection of human rights framework, DRC has mainly
focused on Somalis who are displaced by conflict. Programmers include protection,
livelihood, food and NFI distribution, water and sanitation, and advocacy
amongst others. DRC Yemen has been providing relief and development services in
Yemen since 2008. DRC has mainly focused on refugees and migrants displaced by
conflict and natural disasters.
DRC, through
its specialized business unit, Danish Demining Group (DDG) aims to recreate a
safe environment where people can live without the threat of landmines,
unexploded ordinances and small arms and light weapons”. These goals can be
effectively advanced through cooperation and joint action with other
organization as well as with integration of operations and programs with its
sister organization, DRC.
About the
Job:
Overall
This
non-managerial position is under the overall guidance of the MEAL Team Leader.
S/he will contribute to assisting the MEAL assistant in assuring the
implementation of activities adhering to quality criteria during the monitoring
process, in addition to a particular focus on accountability towards
beneficiaries and other target groups.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct
the patrolling with the program team and deliver an overview of the CFM system
to the new migrants arrivals in addition to clarifying how to fill out the
satisfaction questionnaire form and how to fill it.
· Contribute
to the post-assessments while patrolling with the program team to ensure that
the beneficiaries are aware of the accountability system.
· Conduct
random field visits to the restaurant to check the quantity/quality of the
provided meals in addition to the functionality of the installed
suggestions/complaints box, and the activation of the accountability system if
needed.
· Conducting
in-person data collection (satisfaction survey) using paper forms/KoBo collect.
· Receiving
complaints from beneficiaries on the hotline, mobile, and feedback boxes by
making sure that they share the collected satisfaction surveys/ feedback on a
weekly basis.
· Collect
the direct feedback and complaints during the face-to-face meeting with migrants
during the patrolling.
· Ensure
the timely entry of all satisfaction forms received from beneficiaries and
share them with the MEAL team leader to be added to the master satisfaction
database.
· Conducting
frequent field visits with the program team in patrolling and conducting the
relevant awareness sessions, sharing and discussing with the MEAL team leader
about any hot issues/feedback collected
· Perform
other duties as assigned by MEAL Team Leader/Manager.
About you
To be successful in this role you must have:
Experience :
· Fluent
speaker of Oromo, Amharic, Tigray, and Somali
· Ability
to write reports in English.
· Well
knowledge of MS utilities (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
· Good
training & communication skills.
Technical
competencies:
· Flexibility
in carrying out tasks.
· Good
listener with clear communication.
· Adheres

Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required qualifications:
Education:
· High school
certificate. Preferably, a bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science,
statistics, economics, M&E science, social science, or a related field.
Languages:
· Oromo,
Amharic, Tigray, and Somali (Fluent)
· English
(Good).
· Arabic
(Good).
We offer
DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until
February 2026, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be
available to start work As soon as possible, and be willing and able to work in Lahj – Tuban/Al
Mudharaba wa Alara. And this position will be MEAL TL.
