Who are we?
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has delivered humanitarian
relief and development programming in Yemen since 2008. DRC focuses on
supporting refugees, migrants, and people displaced by conflict and natural
disasters, working especially in areas with access challenges. DRC engages in
protection, emergency, WASH, and mine risk education programming among other
sectors, and has hub offices in Sana'a, Aden, Hajjah, Hodeida, as well as
several other locations throughout Yemen.
In response to the critical and constantly evolving humanitarian
situation in Yemen, DRC has assumed a leading role in coordinating response at
IDP hosting sites. Working at IDP sites involves working together with
international and local organizations in order to coordinate implementation of
humanitarian activities, support community-based site management mechanisms,
and monitor standards, needs, and gaps.
DRC Yemen’s
response
Under the
supervision of the Protection Team Leader, the Protection Assistant (Social
Worker) is responsible for the delivery of case management services and as per
request in other locations in Hajja, including protection assessment, case
planning, service mapping, internal and external referrals to relevant
services, and delivery of Cash for Protection / Individual Protection
Assistance (IPA).

Overall purpose of the role
Case management service
provision
·
Provide protection CM services in compliance with
DRC SOPs and international guidelines and standards, including assessment of
protection risks, development and implementation of case plan, follow-up, and
case closure;
·
Refer cases to internal and external services
based on needs and upon consent, in line with Protection Sector Minimum
Standards on Referrals and DRC Referral SOPs, ensuring to fill the necessary
forms and the referrals tracking sheet;
·
Provide Psychological First Aid (PFA) to
individual in distress;
·
Fill CM forms and CM tracking sheet, ensuring
confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness under the supervision of the
Protection Officer and the Protection Team Leader;
·
Provide awareness sessions to the individuals at
risk and their family members whenever needed;
·
Report to the Protection Officer on complex cases
for final approval on the needed actions to be taken;
·
Support the Protection Officer to coordinate with
other NGOs and actors in the region to provide
assistance to the clients and avoid any duplication of services;
·
At all times safeguard the safety and respect of
the individual, in addition to the confidentiality of his/her information and
his/her right to access services without any discrimination;
·
Attend weekly individual supervision meetings and
monthly group supervision meetings with the Protection Team Leader to ensure
adherence to standards of care and quality case management.
Cash for
Protection
·
Identify cases in need of cash for protection to
mitigate protection risks and fill the necessary form to request the
assistance;
·
Request cash advance at the beginning of each
month and according to the needs, and ensure that cash clearances are completed
on time on Dynamics;
·
Record all cases assisted in the Cash for
Protection tracking sheet, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and timeliness
under the supervision of the Protection Officer and Team Leader;
·
After provision of cash for protection ensure a
proper follow up on the use of the assistance and when requested by the
Protection Officer conduct Outcome Monitoring survey to assess the extent to
which the assistance has supported in achieving a protection outcome.
Monitoring and reporting
·
Produce and submit weekly reports and updated
databases/tracking sheets to the Protection TL;
·
Provide inputs for monthly and quarterly reports
to the Protection Team Leader
·
Accurately update the CM, IPA and Referral
tracking sheets, ensuing adherence to data protection protocols;
·
Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential case
files to document client interactions and interventions using DRC tools,
ensuring adherence to data protection protocols;
·
Ensure that all the IPA/CM/Referral docs/forms are
archived in the SP folders and in the locked cabinets, following DRC protocols
for archiving documents;
·
Participate in weekly and monthly work planning as
directed by the Protection Officer;
·
Support the implementation of monitoring and
evaluation tools and report on issues in the implementation of the program.
Coordination and
representation
·
Collaborate with other DRC sectors and NGOs to
ensure a coordinated and collaborative response to the provision of services
and assistance for those benefiting from case management;
·
Maintain effective working relationship with
relevant stakeholders including partner agencies, community leaders, and
service providers;
·
Ensure up-to-date understandings of service
providers operating in the area based on available service mappings and coordination
with stakeholders.
Other
·
Uphold DRC's mission, values, and principles of

Maintain positive work relationship within the
team;
·
Sign and strictly abide to DRC Code of Conduct,

as directed by Protection Team Leader.
Qualities and experiences:
·
1-2 years of experience in protection related work
with a focus on CM services for adults at risk;
·
Previous experience providing counselling and/or
psychosocial support services;
·
Previous experience providing case management
services;
·
Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect,
non-discrimination and safety of clients at all times;
·
Strong understanding of basic counseling and
psychosocial support concepts and previous training in these areas strongly
preferred;
·
Ability to discuss sensitive issues with respect
and empathy;
·
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving
skills, creativity and flexibility;
·
Strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines,
maintain composure, work independently, prioritize work under pressure,
coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail;
·
Willing to collaborate with and support people
from different ethnic groups and different religions;
·
Demonstrated interest in humanitarian work and
supporting people effected by conflict;
·
Previous experience in international organizations
a strong advantage.

Education:

Bachelor/Degree in Social work, counseling,

We offer
Contract length: DRC will offer the successful applicant a
contract till 31st October 2026,
renewable dependent on both funding and performance.
Work place: Hajjah with
travel to the field.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish
Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National. This position will be
placed at level (NMI).
