Summary

The Logistics Officer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the logistics operations of the organization. This includes managing procurement, inventory, transportation, and supply chain activities to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of goods and services. The Logistics Officer plays a key role in optimizing processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and supporting operational objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services.
  • Manage supplier relationships and maintain a database of approved vendors.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies to meet project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and manage stock control systems.
  • Oversee the storage, handling, and distribution of goods to ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to prevent loss, damage, or discrepancies.
  • Plan and coordinate transportation for goods, including scheduling deliveries and tracking shipments.
  • Manage the organization’s fleet, ensuring vehicles are maintained and operated safely.
  • Optimize logistics routes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and implement logistics policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate logistics operations to identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on logistics activities, including costs, performance, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, including customs and import/export laws.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to logistics and supply chain operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum [X] years of experience in logistics or supply chain management.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in logistics and supply chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or WMS).
  • Knowledge of procurement and inventory management principles.
  • Strong understanding of transportation and customs regulations.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Others:

  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CILT, CSCP) is an advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
