OF THE ORGANIZATION
SOLIDARITES
INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian NGO which, for
more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by
armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their vital needs for food,
water and shelter. Particularly involved in the fight against diseases linked
to unsafe water, the first cause of death in the world, SI's interventions
provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and
hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and
livelihoods. Present in around twenty countries, SI's teams - 2000 people in
total made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at headquarters,
and a few volunteers - work with professionalism and commitment while
respecting cultures.

act of exploitation, abuse and/or sexual harassment (SEAH) against members of
beneficiary communities or collaborators, fraud, corruption, violation of
persons and/or property, funding of activities harmful to human rights – that
could be perpetrated in the frame of its interventions. SI implements a
zero-tolerance policy regarding acts of SEAH.

DESCRIPTION
OF THE POSITION
MISSION
/ OBJECTIVES
Under
the direct supervision of the Line Manager and the overall management of the
Food security and Livelihood Program Manager/ Activity Manager, the FSL Officer
will implement, monitor and report FSL activities, ensuring that Solidarities
International technical recommendations and procedures are followed. The FSL
Officer will be part of a program aimed at supporting Cash distribution through
CYY project. The officer is expected to: He/she will comply with the core
humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality, humanity, and independence
as well as with the principles and mandate of Solidarities International at all
times.
Main
Responsibilities:
DIAGNOSTIC
AND PROJECT CONCEPTION
- Conduct assessments, surveys and focus groups discussions to
identify FSL needs and priorities of target communities.
- Contribute to the analysis of local context to identify
needs, requests, and potential constraints impacting field operations.
- Identify relevant stakeholders, community leaders, activists in
target areas and facilitate community mobilization to ensure community
participation at all stages of project cycle.
- Prepare and conduct awareness raising, information sharing and
community consultation to ensure project objectives and
selection criteria are clearly understood and accepted by the community.
- Report any relevant field observation or additional
information that could influence decision-making and the implementation of
the activities.
IMPLEMENTATION
AND OPERATIONAL FOLLOW-UP
- Implements activities in line with approved work plans and
technical guidance.
- Support the preparation of BoQs and purchase requests ;
Manage the supply of the worksite materials and tools in collaboration
with logistics department
- Monitor field activities using SI standard tools, ensuring quality
implementation and providing technical guidance to beneficiaries as
needed.
- Take part in the evaluation of the technical competence of
contractors.
- Establish and enforces safety and security measures for all
activities.
- Delivers technical support and capacity building to beneficiaries
in areas such as cash distribution.
- Organize, plan, and supervise community participation (see more
details below)
PROJECT
SPECIFIC TASKS:
- Lead the implementation of MPCA activities under the CCY project in
targeted areas of Marib.
- Ensure proper identification and registration of households based
vulnerability assessment tool
- Coordinate with the MEAL and protection teams to ensure
vulnerability assessments and data collection are accurate and compliant.
- Support the setup and management of e-wallet or cash distribution
modalities in collaboration with financial service providers (FSPs).
- Ensure timely preparation of distribution plans, beneficiary lists,
and post-distribution activities.
- Supervise cash distribution processes to ensure transparency,
accountability, and compliance with organizational SOPs.
REPORTING/
COMMUNICATION/REPRESENTATION
- Ensure the data collected, reports and follow-up tools are updated
regularly and safely archived/handed to the Line Manager.
- Ensure that activities under his/her responsibility are followed
up.
- Take part in training related to project objectives when requested
by the Line Manager.
- Report to the Line Manager on the progress, problems/ risks/ safety
issues of the activities he/she oversees.
- Listen to and coordinate with the local population and authorities
to identify any needs, complaints, or major events which could affect the
activities of Solidarities.
- Analyze the humanitarian situation by considering protection
issues/Do No Harm to the population.
- Take part in lessons learnt workshops and other program evaluation
activities.
- Ensure accurate reporting on indicators and beneficiary reach.
- Represent Solidarities International at local level when requested
by the Line Manager.
- Carry out any related office work such as data entry or any other
duties requested by the Line Manager.
- Adhere to SI’s standard operational procedures.
- Ensure positive relationship and good communication practices with
different support departments

PROFILE
FORSAKEN
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related fields
Experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience in food security, livelihoods, or
related fields.
- Experience in project implementation, monitoring, and
reporting
- Experience in working with local communities and
stakeholders.
Required
Professional Characteristics:
- Being proactive by taking initiative and anticipating needs or
issues before they arise.
- To show high level or organization by maintaining a systematic
approach to tasks and responsibilities, ensuring efficiency and
effectiveness.
- Ability to identify problems and suggest creative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills.
