DRC has been operating in the Middle East (ME) region for over a decade,
running a combination of emergency, livelihood, protection and advocacy
programmes through Country Offices (COs) in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon
and Turkey with a Regional Office (RO) in Amman.
DRC Yemen’s response
Throughout its nine field offices and a workforce of 450
staff, DRC upholds its main programmatic objectives to provide immediate and
life sustaining assistance, to strengthen the protective environment, and to
reduce displacement related risks and vulnerabilities by promoting
self-reliance at household and community level.
About the Job:
Overall purpose
The Community Centre (CC) Facilitator will be responsible
for facilitating recreational and psychosocial support activities for children,
youth and adult women, and men within DRC’s Community Centre (CC) in
Al-Musaymeer, as well as conducting awareness raising activities. The CC
Facilitator will also support the creation of a schedule of activities for the
center, as well as maintain the space equipped and organized. The CC
Facilitator will identify individuals in need of further assistance and will refer
them to DRC staff for additional services.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitation
of activities at the CC for children, youth and adult women and men,
including organizing and facilitating recreational and psychosocial
support activities such as arts, sport, non-formal education, human
development skills, etc;
- Assist
in the set-up and organization of spaces and materials in the community
center in preparation for the recreational, psychosocial, awareness
raising, and information dissemination activities.
- Assist
DRC staff to plan and maintain a schedule of activities at the community
center and propose new ideas for activities.
- Assist
DRC staff in identifying needs for material and equipment to conduct
activities.
- Safely
identify and mobilize community members to participate in activities at
the community center.
- Greet,
welcome, orientate, and register clients at the community center.
- Conducting
information sharing sessions and awareness sessions in the community
center on topics identified by DRC.
- Raise
awareness about the activities in the community center with the community
including with community leaders and focal points.
- Safely
identify and refer members of the community who require additional
assistance and services to DRC’s Case Management staff and Assistants/Officers
in accordance with defined referral pathways and Standard Operating
Procedures, with a particular focus on high-risk cases.
- Read,
sign, and strictly abide by the DRC Code of Conduct.
- Must
adhere to DRC’s mission, values, code of conduct including respect for the
principles of neutrality, do no harm and non-discrimination.
- Must
treat all partners and beneficiaries with dignity and respect.Participate
in training and coaching as required on PSS curricula, the relevant SOPs
and the data filing and storing procedures.
About you
To be successful in this role you must have:
Experience and technical competencies:
- Experience
in facilitating recreational and psychosocial support activities;
- Experience
in leading activities for children, youth and adults;
- Experience
and knowledge on Vocational and crafts
- Written
and spoken Arabic;
- Effective
oral communication skills;
- Must
be willing to perform tasks as required by DRC and other partner agencies
if relevant.

Required qualifications:
Education:
- University
degree in social work, education, or closely related fields; proven field
experience can be accepted in lieu.
Languages:
- Arabic

We offer
DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until
December 2025, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be
available to start work As soon as possible, and be willing and able to work in
Lahj.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms
of Employment. This position will be placed at Band (J Non-Manager) and will be
reporting to Protection Manager.
