education, protection, food security and economic empowerment, and
climate-resilient interventions—particularly in conflict- and disaster-affected
communities.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and
experienced Project Manager to lead the implementation of our new project:
“Emergency Response to Displacement and Climate Change in Yemen – Al-Dhale’e
Governorate”. This project supports displaced and vulnerable
children—especially girls and children with disabilities—by ensuring safe,
inclusive, and quality access to education.
Position Summary
The Project Manager will provide overall technical
and administrative leadership for the project. Responsibilities include
strategic planning, coordination, supervision of field teams, budget oversight,
and ensuring the timely and quality implementation of activities such as school
rehabilitation, teacher training, material distribution, and psychosocial
support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide
leadership and supervision to the project team to ensure performance
excellence and goal achievement.
- Develop
and manage detailed project implementation plans, monitoring progress
against timelines and targets.
- Oversee
and coordinate core project activities, including:
- Rehabilitation
and construction of classrooms and WASH facilities.
- Teacher
capacity building and distribution of educational materials.
- Child
protection, disability inclusion, and psychosocial support interventions.
- Represent
the project to relevant authorities, donors, and education/coordination
clusters.
- Ensure
full compliance with donor requirements, organizational procedures, and
financial guidelines.
- Prepare
narrative and financial reports, success stories, and lessons learned.
- Promote
accountability and participatory approaches with strong emphasis on gender
and disability inclusion.
- Conduct
regular field visits to monitor progress and support field teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s
degree in Project Management, Education, Business Administration, or a
related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Engineering
background with field experience is an asset.
- Minimum
of 4 years of experience managing humanitarian or development projects,
ideally in education or emergency response.
- Proven
skills in team leadership, budget management, and donor compliance.
- Prior
experience working in southern Yemen or comparable contexts is highly
desirable.
- Fluency
in both Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Strong
computer skills, including MS Project, Microsoft Office, and Kobo Toolbox.
