BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The World Food Programme (WFP) is a leading humanitarian
organization dedicated to combating hunger worldwide. In its mission to provide
food assistance during emergencies and work with communities to enhance
nutrition and build resilience, WFP relies on accurate and efficient data
management.
The role of prospective will oversee the technical processes related to data in
SCOPE. This position involves extracting and analyzing reports, ensuring the
accuracy of beneficiary data, and maintaining comprehensive databases. The
prospective will engage with cross functional units and activities ensuring
requests are processed on time.
Key responsibilities:
The Staff Member will be expected to carry out other tasks
that may initiate during the appointment as and when needed, such as:
1. Assist in biographic & biometric registration
exercise by design cleansing process and maintain database in different format
(ex: Excel & Access).
2. Mine and analyze large datasets, draw valid inferences and present them
successfully to CO office team and business units.
3. Implement effective processes, procedures and tools to support data
validation and cleansing.
4. Strengthen beneficiary data management by ensuring compliance with corporate
and CO data standards.
5. Staff Member is in charge of the technical processes to extract reports
related to digital data processes, in order to provide programme activities
with near real-time data mechanisms. S/he participates in data verifications,
ensuring the accuracy of beneficiaries’ data is set to 100% correct records.
6. Coordinate the database reporting within defined datelines for updates and
complains.
7. Ensure timely and quality delivery of beneficiary data for further
distribution planning purposes.
8. Ensure the security, reliability and availability of data is guaranteed
following WFP guidance in personal data protection and privacy.
9. Design reports and dashboards for beneficiaries’ data analysis and analyze
pre and post assistance distribution.
10. Report continuously on database analysis findings and challenges faced.
11. Supervise and report on the data reconciliation exercise before and after
importation into SCOPE platform.
12. Any other task as required by the Organization.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Completion of secondary school education.
A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum
six years of relevant work experience.
Desired Experience:
- Has
aided IT team members in building technical skills and staying abreast of
industry developments.
- Has
gained knowledge of technical issues through exposure to IT operations.
Language: Fluency (level C) in English language &
Fluency (level C) in Arabic language.
