Learning & Development Officer
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an International,
independently funded, non-profit, humanitarian medical organization that offers
assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural and man-made
disasters and to victims of armed conflict without discrimination and
irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. MSF is
currently recruiting for the following position based in Taiz Houban:
Job Title : Learning And Development Officer
Location : MSF-H, Taiz Governorate
Level : 5
Main purpose:
Supporting in organizing and implementing the training
activities and applying related tools within the mission according to MSF's
standards and procedures in order to improve peoples capabilities in
effectively achieving the mission's goals
Accountabilities:
- Organize
and coordinate the logistics and administrative activities needed for
learning activities such as distribution materials, equipment requests,
transport arrangements, obtaining the material approval of other partners,
etc.
- Participate
in creation of any training material developed by the departments,
including translating documents into local language; perform initial
editing and proofreading and keeping the training materials available.
- Gather
information on the learning activities (with pre-post-test evaluations,
and feedback from participants), and report problems, success, and
constraints.
- Prepare
and gather documents for the selection process of participants.
- Support
his/her supervisor in performing training needs assessments, determining
appropriate content and target groups for training, ensuring the continued
improvements and preparing a calendar of trainings to ensure the coverage
of the training needs and maintain high standards of quality.
- Assist
the Facilitator/Trainer in delivering training courses and may deliver
training course himself/herself when required.
- Carry
out supply management (orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions,
inventories, consumption, etc.) in his or her department, in order to
satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effectiveness.
MSF Section/Context Specific Activities:
- Implementation
the learning and development mission specific strategy with related
activities and tools according to plan of L&D Manager.
- Give
guidance to International Mobility Staff / Local Recruited Staff
supervisors on L&D activities and tools in the project.
- Facilitate
and deliver training courses when required. (i.e. English / Arabic)
- Evaluate
the training conducted by external institutions
- Contribute
to report writing (monthly reports, annual plans, etc.)
- Follow
up and monitor Employee Evaluations.
- Carry
out supply management in order to satisfy the needs of material with
efficient and effective training
- Responsible
for project library; organizing the online archive with training materials
and offline materials where relevant.
- Keep
records of trainers in projects and update the number of employees who
accomplished the training.
- Support
the implementation of learning and development activities in the project.
Staff are not allowed to chew QAT during working hours.
Under no circumstances are firearms/weapons allowed in MSF vehicles or on MSF
premises. The above-mentioned activities and responsibilities are not
exhaustive, and staff may be assigned additional responsibilities or tasks as
required by their line manager.
Requirements:
Education:
- An
essential Secondary education. Administration, Teaching, or
communication-related Diploma studies are desirable.
Experience:
- Working
experience of at least 1 year in a relevant position.
- Desirable
previous working experience in MSF or other NGOs in developing countries.
Language(s):
- English
and Arabic language are essential.
