Médecins Sans Frontières France is looking for Yemeni
nationals to recruit in medical department, Amran governorate for the following
position:
OBSTETRICIAN GYNECOLOGIST FEMALE
- Location: Saada
Governorate – Haydan
- Contract
type: Fixed Term Contract (Six Months – Renewable).
- Reporting
to: Medical Activity Manager
Main Purpose:
To provide support to the project medical team by giving
specialized consultation, clinical and surgical management of obstetric and
gynecological patients and to improve and reinforce the quality of obstetrics
and gynecology care according to MSF standards.
Perform gynecological and obstetric procedures and any other
prior treatment required, during or immediately after a woman has given birth
in order to improve women’s reproductive health and to reduce pre and
postpartum complications. This will be done in accordance with MSF policies,
protocols and universal hygiene standards and in multidisciplinary
collaboration with other medical, surgical and midwifery team members in the
hospital.
In the frame of these activities, she will:
- Manage
all the obstetrical and gynecological emergencies
- Perform
daily round of the obstetrical/gynecological cases in IPD, in
collaboration with Medical Activity Manager and GP team if case is not
purely obstetrical/gynecological
- Support
the Midwife Activity Manager and Maternity Supervisor in managing the
clinical activities including ANC/PNC clinics.
- Implement
all the protocols and hygiene procedures; supervise her team to follow the
same standards, in order to warrant the quality of the care and service in
her specialty.
- Support
the Midwife Activity Manager and Maternity Supervisor in managing the premises,
material and supplies.
- Assess
the training needs for the national midwives and provide theoretical and
clinical training in cooperation with the Midwife Activity Manager and
Maternity Supervisor.
- Carry-out
information and data collection (patient files, forms, statistics, etc.)
tasks, and elaborate regular reporting, in order to have updated and
reliable information about the day-to-day activity in the project, output/
outcome and support decision-taking.
- Attend
at 8:00am to the daily morning meeting of the hospital, providing input
concerning her activity and to other meetings related to her activity.
- Participate
to the monthly Morbidity Mortality review (MMR), Trainings, and relevant
meetings.
- Ensure
professional confidentiality is respected; ensure compliance with medical
ethics.
- Inform
the line manager about any problem or complication of the patients’
illness, medical error and monitor the proper functioning of the
department, equipment, or material.
- Ensure
proper documentation of medical data and filling system.
- Respect
the time schedule and be at work on time.
- Keep
the patient and/or his/her family informed about the illness and provide
appropriate explanations about the treatment to follow, checking they have
understood.
- Ensure
timely emergency review of patients in the department when
needed/indicated.
- Maintain
good attitude and proper bedside manner towards the patient and their
caretakers and the rest of the medical team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Education
Essential:
- Obstetrician-Gynecologist
degree/ certificate essential.
- Practice
license in Obstetrician-Gynecologist specialty.
Experience
- Desirable
2 years of previous experience having worked in MSF or other NGO’s and in
developing countries is desirable.
Languages: English and Arabic essential.
Knowledge: Essential computer literacy (word, excel and
internet)
