Médecins Sans Frontières Belgium in Yemen mission is looking for Yemeni nationals to recruit for the Cook position.

  • Location: Mocha Project
  • Contract Duration – 1 year renewable
  • Reporting to: HR Assistant / HR & Fin Manager

Prepare meals for MSF expat staff, according to hygiene standards and security rules, in order to ensure their nutritional needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kitchen responsibilities

  • Always follow all hygiene standards and security rules.
  • To empty the kitchen dustbin every day and carry it to the external waste area
  • Sweep and mop the kitchen floor every day.
  • Wash the dishes and other kitchen appliances, after each meal.
  • Clean the kitchen tables and seats, every day before and after every meal.
  • Clean the kitchen fridge and cupboards once a week.
  • Clean the kitchen freezer once a month.
  • Clean the kitchen window twice a month.
  • Ensure a full kitchen cleaning (with the help of the Expat Area’s cleaners) once a month.
  • Ensure that there are enough drinking water bottles and request a water delivery when needed.

Cooking responsibilities

  • Prepare both lunch and dinner meals every day, and adjust the quantity according to the number of people present in each meal.
  • Ensure meals to be served on time.
  • Make sure all meals are prepared under a clean, healthy and safe environment
  • Make sure all the remaining food after every meal is stored properly or rehabilitated for next meal.
  • Control the stock of food, anticipate the needs and prepare a shopping list.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Literacy essential, course on cooking desirable
  • Experience: Previous experience desirable
  • Languages:  Local language essential. Mission language desirable.
