About MOZN:
Mozn Charitable Developmental and Social Foundation is a
non-profit organization established in the year 2015 under the Yemeni
Institutions and Associations Law, affiliated with the Ministry of Social
affairs and Labor. It operates under permit number (63/691) within the Republic
of Yemen. Since its inception, the foundation has been working to assist and
develop the Yemeni society by actively contributing to the provision of
essential services and humanitarian and developmental assistance through the
implementation of projects and activities aimed at meeting the needs of
affected communities and enhancing the diverse capacities of individuals of all
genders.Job Objective:
Technical Engineer plays a vital role in the successful implementation of WASH
projects involving the rehabilitation and construction . Their expertise in
technical planning, coordination, and supervision helps create conducive WASH
environments that support the healthy goals of the project while ensuring
compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Job.
Site Technical Engineer will be based at field/sub-district level in Al Jawf.
The engineers will be in direct contact with contractors to prompt the progress
of the project on a regular basis so he can ensure that all activities of the
project are conducted as per the designed work plans. Technical Engineers
roving in two project locations in Al Mutun and Al Hazm districts playing a
vital role in the successful implementation of Protection, WASH activities
involving rehabilitation and construction across these sectors. Their expertise
in technical planning, coordination, and supervision helps create conducive
environments that support the main goals of the project while ensuring
compliance with relevant regulations and standards. He will be directly
supervising follow-up and tracking the progress on the field for activities
ensuring the successful implementation of Protection, WASH interventions in Al
Mutun and Al Hazm districts. They will be reported to the Project manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct
WASH assessments including needs, technical evaluations of water sources
and sanitation infrastructure.
- Carries
out WASH hardware data collection as required.
- Liaises
with the Project Coordinator to plan and implement water and sanitation
activities in the field.
- Suggest
new methods and approaches in order to improve the quality of water and
sanitation activities in the field.
- Works
with and supervises partners, contractors, suppliers, construction workers
etc. on engineering aspects of the WASH projects.
- In
consultation with the Project Manager offers WASH related technical
oversight for the WASH Program at field level.
- Responds
to and records beneficiary WASH technical/hardware feedback and complaints
at field level.
- Prepares
and shares with the supervisor weekly implementation plans.
- Monitor
and report on the Water and Sanitation activities in the field ensuring
there is compliance with plans
- Report
all gender and protection related concerns to the Project Manager
- Prepares
and shares all relevant Project Manager field reports and documents as
required.
- Monitor
water and sanitation facilities acceptance and beneficiary satisfaction
- Engaged
in formation of community committees and water management
- Organize
and coordinate meetings on construction related issues when required
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRMENTS:
- Bachelor's
degree in civil /environmental engineering.
- Good
communication skills with the host communities and Internal Displaced
Persons (IDPs)
- 3-5
years of experience in field-related activities.
- Experience
in working with water and sanitation projects in a humanitarian context
- Respectful
and able to work with communities.
- Ability
to plan and deliver results in the field.
- Trustworthy
and able to manage resources effectively.
- Experience
in working in the field and in insecure environments.
- Ability
to work under pressure
- High
level of team sprit
- Knowledge
of English is an added advantage.
