transparent manner for the vulnerable groups in society and the affected groups
through the implementation of sustainable development and relief programs of

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
MAIN PURPOSE: The Field Assistant is responsible
for coordinating and implementing project activities at the field level. They
serve as a liaison between authorities, healthcare facility administrators,
beneficiaries, and the project manager. Their main focus is on ensuring
effective coordination, smooth execution of activities, and clear communication
among stakeholders. The field Assistant reports directly to the project manager
and dedicates 100% of their working hours to the project. Their role is
essential in achieving project objectives and improving outcomes in the target
population.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Field Supervision & Quality Control
- Oversight:
Supervise daily implementation of RRM and Reproductive Health (RH)
activities to ensure services meet high-quality standards.
- Monitoring:
Conduct monthly field visits to monitor performance and ensure staff
adhere to standard protocols and procedures.
- RRM
Response: Oversee the Rapid Response Mechanism, ensuring emergency
services are deployed and delivered to affected populations within the
required timeline.
- Gap
Identification: Proactively identify field-level gaps and obstacles,
proposing solutions and reporting them to project management.
2. Planning & Reporting
- Work
Plans: Collaborate with the line manager to develop and track monthly
supervision and activity work plans.
- Reporting:
Collect and submit accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, ensuring
all field documentation, success stories, and photos are provided on time.
- M&E
Coordination: Work closely with the Monitoring & Evaluation team to
verify data collection for project indicators and lead needs assessments
when required.
- Review
Meetings: Organize monthly project review meetings to discuss challenges
and track implementation progress.
3. Coordination & Representation
- Stakeholder
Liaison: Act as a focal point for coordination with local authorities
(GHO), community leaders, and beneficiaries to ensure smooth operations.
- External
Representation: Attend cluster meetings and inter-agency coordination at
the hub level, providing feedback on key discussion points to the Project
Manager.
- Logistics:
Follow up on supply chains and warehouse status to ensure all field
materials are available and properly managed.
4. HR & Administrative Management
- Staff
Oversight: Review field staff timesheets (working hours), manage
attendance/permits, and ensure all field requirements follow the
established career hierarchy.
- Capacity
Building: Identify training needs and provide on-the-job training for team
members to improve service delivery.
- Recruitment
Support: Assist in verifying qualifications for field staff nominations
and ensure there is no duplication of employment.
- Perform
any other tasks as assigned by the program manager and report to the
program manager.
Required Qualifications and skills:
- DEPLOMA’s
degree or more in a related field or its equivalent
- At
least 1-2 years of work experience in a similar context
- Excellent
computer skills, and especially a good understanding and knowledge of
Microsoft Office programs.
- Flexible,
adaptable, and able to improvise and work in a stressful, volatile
environment.
- Experience
in representation and interaction with partners and government officials.
- Excellent
writer: the ability to develop high-quality reports
- Ability
to travel to project sites as needed.
- Strong
leadership and the ability to plan with good organizational skills,
multi-task, including prioritization, and work under pressure.
- Excellent
coordination, reporting, and presentation skills.
Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS): The role
holder is required to carry out the duties in adherence to the Core
Humanitarian Standards, the values and principles outlined in BFD's policies
such as Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Child
Safeguarding, Anti-Workplace Harassment, Fiscal Integrity, Anti-Retaliation and
other internal policies and guidelines.
