“Medical Team Supervisor – Aden (Re-advertisement)”
For our program in Yemen, we are looking for a Medical Team
Supervisor, the position will be based in Aden.

Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Health Activity Manager, the
Medical Team Supervisor will be responsible for the following main activities:
- Providing
technical support to health facility (HF) medical and paramedics staff in
Abyan (Alkoud Maternity centre in Khanfar district, ALkouz HU in Lowder
district and Alshatt hospital in Al-Maderabah District Lhaj
governate
- Collection
and analysis of health & pharmaceutical data from all HFs and share
with Pharmacist and HAM
- Developing
coherent project implementation strategy.
- Reporting
and attendance to different meetings, especially at governorate levels.
- Responsible
for monitoring of the IPCs in the various HFs
- Responsible
for data validation at the health facilities levels and ascertains the
data accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Providing technical support to health facility (HF)
medical and paramedics’ staff
- Train
HF staff on medical protocols including hygiene protocols.
- Ensure
use and respect of medical protocols through observation and supervision
of medical and paramedic staff.
- Implement
regular On-Job Trainings (OJT) and supportive supervision according to a
weekly/monthly schedule.
- Establish
mechanisms of providing regular weekly/monthly feedback on statistics and
health activities to HF staff. Monitor the data collection and reporting
in the HFs and guide doctors where necessary.
- Plan
and implement thematic capacity building or specific trainings according
to the identified needs for HF staff.
- Participate
in establishing/improving referral system. Monitor the referral systems
that are established in the HFs
- Supervise
drugs stock management in the HFs, revied the weekly drugs consumption in
each HF with the support of the Pharmacist.
- Provide
weekly plan for the activities conducted in Targeted HFs
Collection and analysis of health & pharmaceutical
data
- Provide
the HF staff with the necessary data collection tools and ensure that they
are fully conversant with these tools. Print all the available tools and
make them available all the time in the HFs.
- Perform
proper trainings on data collection tools to ensure accurate collection
and analysis of HF data.
- Monitor
the drug consumption by establishing/maintaining mechanisms of consumption
record and inform the health activities manager in case of any unusual
consumption.
- Identify
and rectify gaps or weaknesses in medical activities by using monitoring
and supervision tools, IPC measurement tools
Developing coherent project implementation strategy
- Assist
in implementing a comprehensive need assessment of targeted HF.
- Assist
in preparing and implementing operational action plan in supported HF in
collaboration with MdM medical and coordination teams and HF managers
- Assist
in the implementation of the project activities in collaboration with MdM
medical coordination teams
- Assist
MdM medical management in preparing data collection tools as well as
medical and paramedics protocol according to MdM, national and
international standards.
- Develop
an exit strategy from targeted HFs with help of HAM
Reporting and attendance to different meetings
- Representing
MdM in stakeholder at district and governorate level; liaise and follow-up
with DHOs,
- GHOs
on program activities.
- Prepare
weekly activities report to submit to the health activities manager and
quarterly report to GHO of each governorate
- Compile
epidemiological reports for inclusion in medical reports or any other
relevant reports.
- Compile
drug consumption per month and per health facility.
- Participate
in a pro-active way to MdM internal meetings (medical, security…).
PROFILE REQUIRED
Qualification required:
- Bachelor
degree in medicine (medical doctor).
Skills required:
- Minimum
2 years of experience as team leader or supervisor preferably in INGOs.
- Experience
In community health public health (familiar with primary health care
package services).
- Experience
in training clinical staff.
- Experience
in team management.
Personal skills required:
- Strong
Leadership/supervisory Skills and attention to details.
- Active
listening skills.
- Ability
to adapt to the context (flexible in performing his/her duties).
- Openness:
knowing one’s limits and being capable of seeking information from others
