Al Aman Organization for
Blind Women Care (AOBWC) was established in 1999 as the first Yemeni
organization dedicated to empowering and rehabilitating women and girls of
visual disability. It targets persons with disabilities—particularly persons with visual disabilities PwVDs—along
with their surrounding communities from IDPs, Host Communities and Returnees ,
especially those among the most vulnerable groups. AOBWC works across key programs
including Education, Health, Protection,
Shelter/NFIs, CCCM , FSL , WASH and Advocacy. Guided by the values of accountability,
creativity, initiative, advocacy,
competency and fairness, AOBWC aims leadership in the field of visual
disability in human and development sides. Its mission is to provide
humanitarian and developmental services and comprehensive integration of the
blind in society through the humanitarian and developmental programs,
consultations, building effective partnerships with humanitarian work partners
locally and internationally, and gaining support for the issues of visual
disability with a high level of quality and excellence through an encouraging
environment, competent and specialized staff, and modern technology.
Job Summary
The Pharmacist Assistant
will support AOBWC in the procurement, management, and distribution of
essential medical supplies and basic medications for Community Health workers
(CHWs) in health facilities (HF)
at the community level. The role focuses on ensuring timely and accurate
delivery of medications and supplies, particularly for disability care,
diarrheal diseases, malnutrition, and respiratory infections. The assistant will
collaborate with health staff, local and international suppliers, and project
teams to maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and support
the proper documentation of medical supplies. Additionally, the role includes
assisting in the prequalification of suppliers, ensuring compliance with
quality and safety standards, and contributing to the capacity building of CHWs
on the use and management of medical supplies.
Major
Responsibilities:
- Assist
in the procurement of medical supplies and basic medications for Community Health Workers
(CHWs) and health facilities.
- Manage
inventory and stock levels, ensuring accurate records of all medical supplies and
medications.
- Support
the distribution of medical supplies to HF and project sites, ensuring timely and
proper delivery.
- Collaborate
with local and international suppliers to prequalify vendors, verify compliance with
quality and safety standards, and prioritize local suppliers where
feasible.
- Maintain
accurate documentation and reporting of supplied medications, including batch
numbers, expiry dates, and usage.
- Assist
in training CHWs and health staff on proper storage, handling, and use of medications and
medical supplies.
- Monitor
and report on stock gaps or supply issues, providing recommendations to
project management for timely resolution.
- Support
the overall strengthening of the community health supply chain, contributing to efficient and
inclusive healthcare service delivery.

Education / Experience Needed
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy,
Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
- Previous experience in medical supply management,
pharmacy operations, or community health programs is an advantage.
- Knowledge of inventory management, procurement
procedures, and quality assurance standards.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in humanitarian or
development projects.
LANGUAGE
• Fluency in written
and spoken Arabic and English are required.
