Background
BCHR is a leading national non-governmental humanitarian
agency with a global mission to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by
helping people build secure, productive and just communities. BCHR is a
non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to provide health,
nutrition, food security and protection services as a humanitarian response to
the escalating socio-economic situation in Yemen since 2015.
About the Job:
The Media Assistant will be under supervision of project
manager The Media Assistant will be documented all the projects implementation
and edit the videos or photos, so that we will be able to publish them on all
platforms and sites of the BCHR. The Media assistant will be based in Taiz
Office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES
- Documenting
all project activities photographically, video, media coverage and success
stories.
- Preparing
a documentary report before, during and after the completion of the project
and preparing media reports to clarify this.
- Dissemination
of the project's news in BCHR platforms and various media.
- Preparing
the required media documents the project's activities.
- Coordination
with satellite channels and various media to cover the project's
activities.
- Interviewing
the beneficiaries and writing human stories in the targeted areas.
- Collect
photos and videos that show the impact of the conflict on the humanitarian
situation in the project area.
- Keep
all data and informational materials (stories, photos, videos, etc.)
archived from project staff and beneficiaries, and assist in media
drafting.
- Any
other tasks or duties assigned to him within the framework of the project.
- All
tasks required must be in line with the ethical guidelines provided by the
donor.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's
Degree in Multimedia, Journalism, public relations, or related field.
- A
minimum of 1-3 years’ experience working with INGOs/NGOs in Humanitarian
Aid in similar position.
- Excellent
Photography and filming skills.
- The
ability to deal with design and montage programs (Adobe Creative Cloud).
- The
ability to formulate and edit news content for all project activities to
be compatible with publishing on the foundation’s website as well as
social networking pages.
- The
ability to interview beneficiaries and write success stories of the
project.
- The
ability to plan, organize, follow-up and archive.
- The
ability to form relationships with the available media and make broad
media coverage of news of project activities.
- Ability
to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Enthusiasm
and a genuine interest in INGO work.
- Proven
experience of using MS Office applications (MS office).
- The
ability to work in a team spirit.
