DRC has been operating in the Middle East (ME) region for over a decade,
running a combination of emergency, livelihood, protection and advocacy
programmes through Country Offices (COs) in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon
and Turkey with a Regional Office (RO) in Amman.
DRC Yemen’s response
Throughout its nine field offices and a workforce of 450
staff, DRC upholds its main programmatic objectives to provide immediate and
life sustaining assistance, to strengthen the protective environment, and to
reduce displacement related risks and vulnerabilities by promoting
self-reliance at household and community level.
About the Job:
Overall purpose
The Information Management Officer will be based in Aden and
shall be responsible to implement the Information Management Strategy for
Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (HDP). Also, shall support and
produce reports with maps and data analysis for all HDP operations according to
SOP, NMAS and IMAS.
Responsibilities
- Design,
define and implement the IM Strategy for HDP;
- Complete
all data processing tasked by the Programme Manager by conducting
verification process on field reports;
- Coordination
and control of all IMSMA and GIS functionalities with all the Aden Mine
Action Centers and DRC staff;
- Provide
feedback to Programme Manager and IM Coordinator on data entry process to
IMSMA;
- Checking
all field reports received from operation officers and prepare report to
Operations/NTS Manager on data discrepancies;
- Assist
the technical advisors with the development of IM training packages and
assist training on IM;
- Prepare
user guide on IMSMA reports and translation to Arabic;
- Conduct
highly efficient data entry for the field reports upon request;
- Travel
to all governorates in Yemen for any IM support;
- Visit
Yemen governorates in Yemen whenever required for any GIS and IM technical
issues;
- Assist
the IM Coordinator in developing the work plan;
- Complete
additional tasks assigned by the Operations/NTS Manager;
- Where
appropriate, represent the DRC project team within partners, and
participate in local community activities;
- Maintain
effective and positive internal contacts with DRC officers and staff, and
external contacts with national and local government officials,
international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and donor agency
officials;
- Define
the list of assets and licenses required to implement the IM Strategy for
HDP;
- Other
relevant task assigned by Operations Manager and Programme Manager.
About you
To be successful in this role you must have:
Experience and technical competencies:
- At
least 3 years of working experience with Informational Management field;
- Excellent
computer skills in Windows and Microsoft Office to include MS Excel and MS
Access;
- Demonstrable
experience working with IMSMA Core and other Power BI Flexible and
adaptable to any situation;
- Ability
work long hours under pressure and to meet deadlines;
- Able
to travel to all provinces in Yemen for DRC Support;
- In-depth
knowledge of database and GIS software, good knowledge of related hardware
and peripheral equipment;
- Very
good ability in topographical map reading;
- Understanding
of data QA/QC processes for information management are essential;
- Advanced
knowledge of software engineering theory and applications would be an
asset;
- Experience
of working in challenging and insecure environments;
- Must
be able to work in team environment;
Must be in good physical condition and health.

Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate
of an Institute or University in the field of Information Technology,
Information Management or Computer Sciences;
- Certificate
in IMSMA Core or similar is desirable.
Languages:
- Fluency
in written and spoken Arabic;
- Fluency
in written and spoken English.
We offer
DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until
December 2025, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be
available to start work As soon as possible, and be willing and able to work in
Aden.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms
of Employment. This position will be placed at Band (H Non-Manager) and will be
reporting to Protection Manager.
