About Generations without Qat Organization:

GWQ is a voluntary non-governmental youth organization was launched in 2007 as an initiative of young Yemeni volunteers with the common goals to involve, guide and invest in development of youth abilities. The initiative started to work on awareness raising around the negative consequences of chewing of Qat (a softdrug) as a bad habit that Yemenis are involved in. Later on this original focus was extended to include the concept of civic education and to work on developmental issues with and by youth to enable them to be leaders in their communities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

·       Assisting the MEAL officer in developing, implementing the monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) system for the programs.

·       Assist the MEAL officer in implementing the MEAL plan.

·       Actively participating in developing standardized MEAL tools for the project such as monitoring sheets; weekly/monthly progress analysis reports etc.

·       Training the relevant data collectors in the field of MEAL system, ensuring they use the required formats/sheets effectively as required and desired

·       Actively participate in assisting to implement PDMs, DDMs, baseline, end line, and KAP studies.

·       Developing the database for storing projects data and information.

·       Updating project database on regular basis through entering and processing relevant data on timely basis.

·       Collating and extracting relevant information from the project database on a regular basis, ensuring information/data are available upon request.

·       Conducting regular field monitoring to identify challenges and present to the program management for corrected actions

·       Actively participating in conducting baseline assessments, annual project reviews, and final evaluations

·       Systematically and frequently capturing progress, successes and challenges with photo camera and video.

·       Assisting the MEAL officer in the functionalization of the Feedback & Complaints Mechanism among partners and beneficiaries and ensuring that an updated Log sheet is shared monthly with the MEAL Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRMENTS:

 

·       Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, diploma, business of administration or relevant field.

·       1-2 years of M&E experience related to development and humanitarian aid.

·       Experience designing and conducting training sessions and workshops.

·       Excellent report writing skills.

·       Strong knowledge of project cycle management and M&E.

·       Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

·       Excellent English language skills.

·       Demonstrable commitment to gender-sensitive practices.
