Safe Road for Peace & Development (SRPD) is
a non-profit and non-governmental organization that was established in August.
2017 with a vision to provide work through innovative approaches in Yemen to
empower people, save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice and life
with integrity, especially for those living in poverty and marginalized
communities, where they can utilize their potential for sustainable

Job title: Livelihood Officer
Report to: Project Manager
Location: Sana’a
Contract Duration: Until September 30th,2025, renewable based on
fund availability and performance
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsibility
for designing, developing, and implementing livelihood programs and
initiatives that aim to improve the economic well-being of individuals or
communities.
- Develop
detailed project plans, including budgets, timeliness, and activities.
- Identifying
training and capacity-building needs within the target population. Also,
monitoring and evaluating the impact of livelihood interventions,
collecting data, and analyzing trends to inform program adjustments and
improvements.
- Support
the project manager in developing guidelines and tools for livelihood
activities as required.
- Conduct
regular focus group discussions as well as groups throughout the project
period, to identify the most relevant training topics.
- Collaborate
with the MEAL department in designing and reviewing tools for the
evaluation of livelihood programming, PDM; and support the MEAL team as
required in conducting PDM cycles in relation to livelihood kits.
- Carry
out regular monitoring of field livelihood activities, report findings,
and provide recommendations for improvement.
- After
completion of the livelihood training, organize regular group mentorship
sessions with the participants to provide further support on relevant
topics (income generation, savings, and loans, revolving funds, etc.),
monitor their progress, review any challenges faced, and provide them with
guidance to address those.
- Support
the Reporting Officer with the identification of beneficiaries for
livelihood-related success stories for documentation.
- Collect
photos of livelihood program implementation, with the consent of concerned
persons, and ensure that donor visibility is respected.
- Ensure
systematic documentation and filing of all documents related to livelihood
activities, in line with safety and confidentiality standards for data
management.
- Any
other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s
degree in a relevant field.
- Prior
experience in livelihood development and working with people with
disabilities.
- Strong
project management skills.
- Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent
organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency
in spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Minimum
2 years of demonstrated experience in livelihood-related programming in
Yemen (implementation and management of livelihood activities).
- Technical
knowledge of income-generating activities (IGAs) and small and micro
enterprises (SMEs), including business plans.
- Demonstrated
experience working collaboratively with CBOs, including capacity-building
and support would be a strong asset.
- Demonstrated
experience working on livelihoods in relation to protection, with a focus
on vulnerable women and girls, would be a strong asset.
- Essential
computer literacy, especially in Word, PowerPoint, as well as Excel for
database management.
- Good
English writing and reporting skills.
