Taybah Foundation for Development (TFD):
Taybah Foundation for Development is a Yemeni development
institution working in the areas of health and education. It was established in
1996 under the license of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor No. 25.
Taybah seeks to provide quality health and education services in
partnership and cooperation with all concerned and interested parties in
accordance with the development plans of local authorities.

Overall, Purpose
Accounts manager will be responsible for tasks such as
preparing financial payments & reports, recording and reconciling financial
transactions, managing project budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial
policies and procedures. The Accounts manager will work closely with other all
staff with Finance Officers, such as the offices and Projects Managers,
Logistics officers and HR officers, to ensure effective communication and
coordination around financial matters.
Responsibilities
General Tasks
- Uphold
the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and
independence
- Respect
the TFD values at all times, both within and outside of working hours
- Know,
understand, and comply with TFD internal policies and procedures
- Follow
the TFD Security Plan and other related policies and SOPs
- Adhere
to TFD Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) handbook and regulations
- Be
prepared to work in Aden and other Governorates of Yemen
Specific Tasks
Technical
- Review
all transactions and documents before disbursing them and entering them
into the automated system.
- Organize
and follow up on the organization's and project's accounting transactions
with banks and suppliers.
- Conduct
and follow up on monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts on a
regular basis.
- Monitor
annual budgets and variances.
- Monitor
project budgets and deviations and develop appropriate solutions.
- Prepare
weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.
- Follow
up on internal and external financial claims.
- Supervise
and monitor assets, maintaining a complete record of their status.
- Document
and archive financial transactions in paper and electronic form.
- Follow
up on third-party obligations and review their accounts.
- Prepare
and reconcile monthly balance sheets and statements, and prepare
accounting reconciliations for them.
- Review
data on the accounting system and ensure that these expenses are allocated
to the designated cost centers.
- Review
all approved payment documents and authorized signatures to ensure a sound
and sufficient backup copy is available before disbursing bank or cash
funds.
- Assist
the Finance and Administration Manager in strengthening internal controls
and the control environment.
- Participate
with the finance team during internal and external audits, donor audits,
and any approved external audits of financial records.
- Due to
the nature of the organization's activities, the above tasks are
indicative only and are subject to change. Other/additional tasks may be
delegated to achieve the organization's objectives.
- Perform
all other tasks assigned by the direct manager within the scope of the
work.
Qualifications and experience
- University
degree in accounting is required and 3 years of relevant professional
experience in a similar position and capacity required.
- Familiarity
with using accounting software
Technical Skills
- Excellent
communication skills.
- Good
analytical, problem solving and organization skills
- Excellent
organizational skills and ability to determine priorities.
- Capable
of working under pressure and is results-oriented with the ability to meet
strict deadlines.
- Ability
to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Ability
to travel as required within Yemen.
- Very
good in standard Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook) and
typing.
- Strong
written and spoken English skills.
Performance Indicators
- Nil
absences during official organizational working hours other than those
coordinated with the direct supervisor.
- Timely
submission of Tasks and Finance reports
- Monthly
bank reconciliations with no outstanding items
- On
time and consistent attendance record.
- Honesty
and integrity in all work activities.
Quality Management
- Participate
as requested in TFD internal workshops and distance learning sessions to
keep up with changing trends, new guidelines, and best practices.
- Ensure
projects are implemented procedures in line with donor proposals and
requirements and by TFD, donor, country, and international standards
Work Conditions
The position will be based in the TFD Aden Office, with
field trips outside the city/town, within target Governorates. The candidate
will need to be flexible on time depending on the TFD needs. Regular working
hours will be 08:00 to 15:00, but may require flexibility as the work dictates.
